2026 State W-4 Form Updates
WorkBright's supported state W-4 forms in I-9 Center are updated to the latest 2026 versions.
Previously, several state W-4 forms in I-9 Center reflected prior-year versions, including some fields that states have since retired.
What's new
Iowa: new fields — Personal Exemption Credit Allowed (Federal Purposes), Total Number of Allowances, and Additional Withholding Amount have been added to the Iowa form.
Maryland: new field — A legal residency certification field has been added to the Maryland form.
Kentucky: fields removed — Military servicemember and domicile-related fields that are no longer needed have been removed from the Kentucky form.
Other states updated — Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Colorado D4 (where applicable), Georgia, Louisiana, Montana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia forms are aligned to their latest 2026 versions.
Why it matters
This keeps I-9 Center's state W-4 forms aligned with each state's current withholding requirements, so new workers complete the correct, up-to-date version without any manual form swaps.
What to expect
Workers who already started an I-9 or W-4 won't see any change. New workers starting the process in Iowa, Maryland, or Kentucky will see the updated fields; all other listed states are on their current form version with no visible change beyond that.
Availability
Available to all I-9 Center customers.
