More Ways to Build a Pool Audience

DATE:
AUTHOR: The Fountain team

Three additions to the audience builder: time windows that move with you, stage filtering that reaches people who already reached a decision, and criteria drawn from worker records.

The audience builder could describe who was in a given state right now, but not who had moved recently, who had reached the end of a workflow, or anything about a person's history as a worker. Re-engagement audiences went stale the moment they were saved, and rebuilding them was manual.

What's new

  • Relative time windows — A date condition can be set to within the last a number of days or months, so an audience keeps describing the same span of time as time passes. An audience of people who applied within the last three months refreshes itself, cycling new applicants in and older ones out.

  • Terminal stages in stage filtering — The current application stage filter now includes the terminal stages, Approved, Rejected, and On Hold, so people who reached a decision are targetable.

  • Worker attributes as criteria — Audiences can be built on worker records: status and status sub-type, start, hire, and termination dates, job, brand, location and location group, city, state, country, and whether the worker is a rehire.

Why it matters

Re-engagement depends on describing people by what they did and when. A relative window means an audience built once keeps working. Terminal stages open up the people you already made a decision about, including the ones you approved. And worker attributes reach former workers, who are the warmest audience most employers have and the hardest to describe using applicant data alone.

What to expect

Audience members must still be eligible Pool talent, so a talent-exclusion setting that keeps active applicants out of Pool will return fewer people than the raw filter suggests. Relative windows are evaluated when the audience refreshes, so membership moves as talent age in or out. Stage filtering reads live from your Hire stage configuration, and worker attribute criteria reflect your configured worker attributes. Existing audiences are unchanged.
