Inclusive End Dates for Hiring Goals
An account setting decides whether a hiring goal's Hire by date is read as the beginning of that day or the end of it.
A goal's Hire by date was stored at the beginning of the day, so a goal stopped being active the moment its final day began and lost that whole day. Teams hiring month to month had to overlap goals by a day to cover the gap, which muddied monthly campaign attribution.
What's new
An account setting — under Hiring Goals settings, “Hire by” dates can be set to Beginning of day (00:00:00), which stays the default, or End of day (23:59:59).
Inclusive end dates — on End of day, a goal stays active through the end of its Hire by date in the opening's location timezone.
Clean handover between goals — back to back goals hand over at midnight, with no uncovered day between them.
Sourcing that matches the hiring window — the goal's end date carries through to sourcing purchase end dates, so campaigns stop exactly when the goal does.
Goals already running follow the setting — active and scheduled goals are updated to the selected timestamp when an account switches, so the whole account behaves the same way.
The effective end time is visible — goal end dates show the time alongside the date.
Why it matters
Teams that budget sourcing by calendar month were losing the last day of every window, and the workaround was to overlap goals, which broke clean monthly attribution. Making the end date inclusive removes both problems at once.
What to expect
Switching an account to End of day is a behavior change rather than a cosmetic one. Every goal gains the final day of its window, so goals stay active a day longer, days remaining counts shift by one, sourcing campaigns tied to a goal run one extra day, and goal status and time to fill reporting move with them. Accounts that keep the default see no change at all.
