Coming Soon in Onboard | flow versioning 2.0

Update an Onboarding flow once. Only the workers who haven’t started see the new version.

Onboarding now supports versioning on published flows. Admins can publish changes to a live flow without duplicating it or archiving the old one. The new version applies only to workers who haven't started yet — workers in progress or already complete keep their version, their progress, and their completions.

What’s new

  • Publish a new version of a flow directly, without creating a duplicate or archiving the previous flow.

  • The new version applies only to workers who haven't started the flow. Workers already in progress or complete are unaffected.

  • Worker completions on previous versions are preserved — no resets, no re-notifications.

  • Version history is visible on the flow, and the worker profile shows which version each worker is on.

Why it matters

Today, every change to a published flow forces ops teams to clone, re-launch, and eventually archive — leaving behind a growing list of near-identical flows that are hard to maintain and harder to report on. Flow versioning cuts that overhead and gives Onboarding admins a single, authoritative flow per program with a clean history.

What to expect

  • The current release applies new versions to workers who haven't started yet. Support for in-progress workers, worker-level version switching, change-log view, and version rollback are planned for a future release.

  • Version history is available on the flow detail view; the worker profile shows which version each worker is assigned to.
