Customize Shift Worker Notifications by Location
Choose which Shift texts each location sends, rewrite them in your own words, and decide when reminders and alerts go out.
Every location received the same fixed set of Shift texts with the same copy and timing. A customer who needed to change one message could either live with it or turn Shift messaging off entirely.
What's new
Turn texts on or off by location — toggle each Shift Reminders, Schedule Change Notices, Clock In/Out Alerts and Worker Requests text on or off for a location or location group.
Write your own message — edit any text, insert merge tags such as the worker's first name, job, location, shift start time or clock-in link, and preview the message before you save it.
Choose when reminders and alerts go out — set how many hours before a shift the upcoming shift reminder is sent, and how many minutes after a shift starts or ends a missed clock-in or clock-out alert is sent.
Set it once for a group — configure a location group and let its locations inherit the settings, or give a single location its own.
Why it matters
Worker texts match how you run your workforce. Teams of contractors can drop words like manager or teammate, and workers who clock in through another tool stop receiving links to clock in through Shift, while the texts you still want stay on.
What to expect
Every text starts on with the current copy, so nothing changes for workers until an admin edits a setting. The kiosk reminder can be changed when kiosk mode is on. Worker Notifications covers Shift text messages only.
