Limit Consecutive Scheduled Hours in Shift
Cap how many back-to-back hours a worker can be scheduled, with an optional rest time before they can take on more.
Rules looked at one shift at a time, so a worker could claim several short shifts back to back and go past a rest-break policy without any single shift breaking it, which left teams reviewing schedules by hand.
What's new
A new rule condition — add Consecutive Scheduled Hours to a rule and set the maximum number of consecutive hours a worker can be scheduled.
Optional rest time — add a rest time in hours or minutes, and a worker who reaches the limit can't take on more shifts until it has passed.
Managers and workers alike — managers can't assign a shift that goes past the limit, and workers can't claim one.
Based on the schedule — the rule uses scheduled time rather than logged breaks, so it works for workers who don't clock breaks, and a 30-minute gap between shifts resets the count.
Why it matters
Rest-break policies are enforced as shifts are assigned and claimed, so nobody has to review schedules afterwards or take back a shift a worker has already planned around.
What to expect
Nothing changes until an admin sets up the rule. Workers close to their limit will see fewer open shifts, so let them know why some shifts may not appear.
