New in ATS | hiring goals — overlapping goals and auto-close

Run multiple hiring goals on the same opening and close openings automatically when goals are met.

Hiring Goals v4 is going GA. The four feature flag variants in production (v1, v2, v3, v4) are consolidating into a single unified version with overlapping goals, auto-close controls, and a new opt-in safeguard requiring an active hiring goal to activate openings. Two phased waves roll the unified version out to v1 and v3 customers.

What’s new

• Overlapping hiring goals let multiple active goals coexist on the same opening, replacing the previous one-goal-per-opening constraint on v1.

• Auto-close on goal met or on target end date moves an opening from active to inactive automatically.

• Optional setting to require an active hiring goal before an opening can be activated. Off by default.

• Hire-by date is no longer mandatory and can be removed after being set.

• Goal edits are reduce-only — goals can be lowered but not increased.

• A single unified settings panel replaces the fragmented behavior across v1, v3, and v4 flags.

Why it matters

Consolidating onto one Hiring Goals model removes the friction of staff members hitting different behavior on different accounts and unlocks overlapping goals and auto-close for every customer on the unified version. Auto-close cuts the manual cleanup recruiters do at the end of a hiring push, and the active-goal safeguard prevents openings from going live without a measurable target.
