New in Shift | automate worker request approvals
Give workers faster answers and reduce time spent on manual approvals.
Managers can now set rules to automatically approve common worker requests, reducing the need for manual review.
What’s new
Automatically approve requests based on configurable rules
Supports drop shift, time off, and claim shift requests
Requests that don’t match rules continue through the standard manager review flow
New Worker Requests settings available at the location level
Why it matters
This reduces the time managers spend reviewing requests and gives workers faster, more consistent responses, especially in high-volume environments.
What to expect
Automation is configured at the location level and can be adjusted as needed
Requests are either automatically approved (when rules apply) or routed to managers for review
Existing request workflows remain unchanged unless rules are enabled

Release type: Continuous update
