New in Shift | Bulk Scheduling Actions: Copy + Paste Shifts

DATE:
AUTHOR: The Fountain team

We’ve made recurring schedule creation faster in Shift.

Users can now copy and paste shifts instead of rebuilding schedules from scratch week over week.

What’s new in Shift

Bulk scheduling actions: Copy and paste shifts

You can now duplicate existing shifts and reuse them across future schedules.

When copying shifts, users can choose to:

  • Keep assigned workers

  • Leave shifts unassigned

This makes it easy to replicate recurring schedules while maintaining flexibility.

Recurring schedule support

For teams that run similar schedules week over week, shifts can now be copied on a recurring basis rather than manually recreated each time.

This reduces repetitive setup and simplifies long-term schedule planning.

Customer impact

This update helps teams:

  • Save significant time when building recurring schedules

  • Reduce manual shift creation

  • Maintain consistency across weekly schedules

  • Publish schedules further in advance

For operations teams managing repeat patterns, this removes one of the most time-intensive parts of scheduling.

Who this is for

Operations managers, schedulers, and admins using Shift to build recurring schedules.

Availability

This feature went GA on March 5, 2026 and is available to all Shift users.
