Payrate Transparency in Hire
New in Hire: Flexible Payrate Transparency Settings for Job Openings
Stay Compliant with Pay Laws While Customizing Candidate Visibility.
We’ve rolled out Payrate Transparency in the Hire product—giving you the flexibility to show or hide compensation details for each job opening. With increasing legislation around pay transparency, this feature helps your team remain compliant where necessary, while preserving control where laws do not require disclosure.
Key Benefits
Stay Legally Compliant
Meet pay transparency requirements across different U.S. states with configurable options per opening.
Tailored to Your Needs
Choose whether to show pay rates globally or only in locations where mandated.
Improve Candidate Trust
Transparently display compensation to encourage trust and increase conversion in regulated states.
How to Get Started
To configure payrate transparency settings, start by navigating to Company Settings within the Hire product.
In the Company Settings page, you’ll find a setting labeled “Display pay ranges on…”. You can choose between two options:
If you select “On all application forms”, pay ranges will be displayed for every job opening across all locations. In this mode, the option to override settings on a per-opening basis will be disabled. This ensures consistent transparency across your entire organization.
If you select “For U.S. opening locations”, payrate visibility will only apply to U.S.-based job openings. In this configuration, you’ll have the option to enable a checkbox labeled “Allow per-opening override”, which gives individual openings more control over whether pay ranges are displayed.
When editing a job opening, the behavior of the “Make pay visible” setting depends on both the location of the opening and whether the per-opening override is enabled.
For Non-US Locations:
If "Allow per-opening override" is checked → “Make pay visible” is enabled
If unchecked → “Make pay visible” is disabled & checked
For US Locations:
State legally requires pay visibility (e.g., California):
“Make pay visible” is always checked & disabled
State does not require pay visibility (e.g., Nebraska):
If override = checked → “Make pay visible” is enabled
If override = unchecked → “Make pay visible” is disabled & unchecked
Remote jobs:
If override = checked → “Make pay visible” is enabled & checked
If override = unchecked → “Make pay visible” is disabled & checked
