Rename, Delete and Lock Opening Attributes
Admins can rename opening attributes, edit or delete dropdown values, delete attributes and lock sensitive ones, without contacting Support.
Opening attribute lists drift as managers leave, typos stick and integrations change, and every correction needed a Support request.
What's new
Rename attributes — names already in use are rejected.
Edit dropdown values — fix a value once and every opening using it shows the update.
Delete values and attributes — a confirmation shows how many openings, positions and hiring goals use the value or attribute, with a link to the filtered Openings list, before it is removed everywhere.
Lock attribute values — only users who can manage attributes can set a locked attribute on openings.
Delete values through the API — remove values programmatically, for example when syncing manager changes from an HRIS.
The Opening Attributes page — typed attributes with View, Set values and Manage permissions, replacing the Custom Fields editor.
Why it matters
Clean-up becomes self-serve, and compliance-critical attributes stay with the admins responsible for them.
What to expect
Deletions apply everywhere and can't be undone. Renaming an attribute changes the key returned by the API, so check the integrations, rules, automations and merge keys that read an attribute before renaming or deleting it.
