Cue Tip: Alongside built-in reports like the CAI Conversation Analysis Report, you can ask Cue to build a report from your applicant data.
Copy/paste this prompt into Cue:
Build me a report of applicants from the last 30 days, grouped by opening and current stage, and show me where the biggest drop-offs are.
Release Highlights
We've introduced 7 updates across I-9 Center, Cue, Onboarding, and the applicant experience — employment paperwork gets considerably less manual, rehire matching learns to respect legal entity boundaries, Cue reaches into the tools your team already works in, and applicant consent for SMS and calls gets clearer.
Available Now
I-9 Center: A worker's I-9 or W-4 can be restarted from an automation rule, so fresh paperwork is collected after a redeployment without an admin resetting each case by hand.
I-9 Center: A Multi EIN policy setting keeps rehire matching inside the same EIN or legal domain, so I-9 and E-Verify records stay filed under the correct employer.
ATS: The CAI Conversation Analysis Report can be exported on demand as a CSV, so you can audit how CAI is answering candidates without asking Fountain to run the report.
Coming Soon / Rolling Out
Cue: Connectors for Slack, Microsoft 365, Notion, and Asana let Cue read context on demand and act across the tools your team already uses, scoped to what each person can already access.
ATS: We're improving how applicants give consent for SMS and calls: transactional contact moves to disclosure on the application form, marketing stays a separate opt-in, and API and CSV customers will need to set consent values explicitly.
Onboarding: Publishing a flow change offers three release strategies: Progressive for new workers only, In-progress workers, or Apply to all Workers, with a confirmation step showing exactly who is affected.
Onboarding: Rehire task reuse gains a validity window, plus a per-task option to prefill previous answers and let the returning worker review them.
Together, these updates take manual steps out of employment paperwork, keep records filed against the right legal entity, and put Fountain insights where your team already works.
I-9 Center | Automation Restart for I-9 and W-4
A worker's I-9 or W-4 can be restarted from an automation rule. On a rule whose source is a worker, choose Restart worker's I-9 or Restart worker's W-4; on a rule whose source is an applicant, choose Restart associated worker's I-9 or Restart associated worker's W-4, which act on the worker linked to the matching applicant. Pair the action with any worker trigger, such as a reverification date moving into the future. The restart runs in the background, resets the worker's form state, rejects applicable WorkBright submissions, clears the relevant completion data, notifies the worker, and syncs status back to Hire. In I-9 Center the case returns to Section 1 marked as rejected, with the reason shown as Restarted by automation.
Availability: Available to all I-9 Center customers.
I-9 Center | Cross-EIN Rehire Matching
A Multi EIN policy section on the Workers matching and rehire settings page requires two workers to share the same EIN before they can be matched or linked as a rehire, or the same legal domain when I-9 Center is active. Where WorkBright credentials are configured, the boundary is the credential rather than the EIN itself: several EINs can share one credential, and workers under those EINs can still be matched, because the I-9 and E-Verify case can legitimately be reused. An EIN with no credential of its own, and a worker with no EIN set, both fall back to the default credential. When two workers fall under different credentials, no link is created and each keeps a standalone record.
Availability: Available to all I-9 Center customers.
ATS | CAI Conversation Analysis Report Export
The Conversation Analysis Report can be exported on demand. Choose the range of conversations to include, and the report downloads to your computer as a CSV. It covers conversation quality, topics, and sentiment, along with how topics and volume correlate to stage and opening, the same content the internal reporting workflow produced, now available without a request to Fountain.
Availability: Available to all Hire customers.
Cue | Connectors
Cue can connect to the tools your team already uses. Slack and Microsoft 365, which covers Teams, Outlook email, calendar, and OneDrive, let Cue format and send messages, reports, reminders, and alerts into the channels people already work in. Notion and Asana let Cue retrieve pages, databases, projects, and tasks on demand, and create tracked work without leaving the conversation.
Customers browse the Connectors Marketplace in settings and enable one for the account, then each person completes the provider's sign-in flow without sharing a password with Fountain. Cue sees and does only what that person could already do directly, reads a connected tool on demand rather than copying data in advance, and holds back the most destructive actions. Connectors arrive in waves, with Slack and Microsoft 365 first and Notion and Asana following.

ATS | Applicant Consent Updates for SMS and Calls
We're improving how applicants give consent for SMS and calls, so they stay reachable about their own application. On the application form, transactional SMS and call checkboxes give way to disclosure copy near the phone field, while marketing and future-opportunity outreach remain a separate opt-in. Further changes follow, including a setting to stop asking for marketing consent, your own Privacy Policy and Terms links, and consistent consent capture across the other applicant creation paths.
Customers who create applicants through the API or by CSV import will need to set explicit values for four granular consent variables. Those fields are available now, and there is a 90-day migration window before applicant creation fails when they are left blank. The release note covers what applicants see, what may need to change on your side, and answers to common questions.

Onboarding | Flow Version Rollout Options
When publishing changes to a live onboarding flow, admins choose between three release strategies. Progressive, the recommended option, applies updates only to new workers added to the flow. In-progress workers applies them to everyone who has not yet finished, including workers in an error or failed state, and shows how many workers that is. Apply to all Workers reaches everyone, reopening the flow for workers who had already completed it. Before anything is applied, a confirmation step breaks down how many in-progress and completed workers are affected. Each release takes a version name and an optional description, and the version a worker is on appears in the worker list.

Onboarding | Rehire Task Reuse Controls
A Task reuse validity section on the Workers matching and rehire settings page defines how recently a task must have been completed for its data to be reused, measured in days, months, or years. When a prior completion falls outside that window, the worker completes the task again, and custom attributes tied to the expired task are not carried forward. Each task also carries a Reuse task on rehire setting: Off so rehired workers complete it again, Reuse & complete so previous answers are copied and the task is marked complete, or, on tasks that collect information, Reuse & worker reviews so previous answers are prefilled for the worker to review and submit. The validity setting is disabled by default, and I-9, W-4, background check, and TIN check tasks remain ineligible for reuse.
